Education

I attended William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA for my undergraduate studies. I graduated in 2013 when I earned a BA in English with a concentration in Literature. My cumulative GPA was 3.55. I have been accepted into the graduate English program at CSU Sacramento. When I graduate I will earn an MA in English Composition.

Experience

I spent over 2 years tutoring at William Jessup University while studying for my undergraduate degree. I spent those years tutoring writing and literary analysis entirely at the university level. Upon graduating in May of 2013, I expanded my range of clients by working the remainder of the year tutoring underprivileged children through Mobile Minds Tutoring Inc. In Spring of 2016, I was asked to serve as a professor at Epic Bible College in Sacramento, CA. It was here that I first taught remedial English in class that included mostly ESL students. My intent is not only to be a tutor, but a professional writing coach. I desire to help students--especially those planning to enter college--not simply with a single assignment, but to give them challenges to improve their overall writing skills. I've taken college courses in Shakespeare, Critical Analysis in Literature, Women's Literature, Jane Austen, and C.S. Lewis along with Comp I and II. In other related professional work, I have served, and been credited, as the editor to several commercially-released novels. An additional emphasis of my particular tutoring style is working with students with ADHD. I have dealt with ADHD myself throughout childhood and adulthood. Due to this, I can greatly empathize with students of all age that struggle with many forms of concentration difficulties. In order to better support this, I have attended classes and seminars for therapists dealing with patients diagnosed with ADHD. I find the information from those classes translate perfectly over to my duties to my clients as a tutor.

Hobbies

I'm a bit on the introverted side, but that helps me excel in one-on-one interactions. I love to read, watch educational documentaries, and learn more about the world all around me. I work well with clients who are motivated to work hard and take the writing exercises seriously. My ultimate goal is to run my own college writing center.
